Course: Agile Governance 

A lot of organisations are trying to apply Agile ways of working, but they are preventing full adoption by applying project-style governance to software teams and initiatives.

While organisations continue to do project-based delivery, they are almost always limiting iteration, experimentation and innovation, all of which are key benefits of Agile.

By modifiying certain aspects of our governance, organisations can maintain similar levels of cost and quality controls while not limiting the abilities of the Agile team.

This course is for people working in Agile software development, or project governance roles, and who needs to demonstrate performance improvements.

Types of roles that should attend this course include; Enterprise Agile Coaches, Transformation Leaders, Project Managers, Project Management Office staff, Program Managers, Portfolio Managers, Delivery Managers, Org Designers, Agile Designers, and so on. 

This course is open to any members of an IT team, and also to managers who need to better understand delivery challenges and how to overcome them.

MODULE 1

How to review governance controls in an objective way

• Understand how project governance impacts Agile delivery and teams
• How to identify and review existing governance controls
• How to assess governance controls for continued use, or need to adapt

MODULE 2

How to define new Agile governance controls

• How to define and agree new governance controls
• How to create more adaptive processes

MODULE 3

How to maintain adequate governance controls

• How to apply governance consistently across projects and teams
• How to maintain risk and quality control in an Agile delivery model

This course is for people with intermediate to advanced skills in project and program governance.  It is also for intermediate to advanced Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches who have experience in project governance.

Project, program and portfolio people are expected to deliver better outcomes from their teams and from their portfolios.  This course teaches these experienced people how they can enable improved agility, throughput and speed to market by modifying their existing governance practices.

Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches can assist with adapting governance processes and practices.

This course teaches how to improve governance to greatly  enable Agile ways of working.
